Lock Haven University confers degrees three times a year: May, August and December.
In order to have your degree conferred, you must submit a Graduation Application.
This application is reviewed by your academic advisor and your academic department
chair to verify that degree requirements are met and you are eligible to graduate
Deadlines to apply for graduation:
If you will be completing your degree requirements during the spring semester, summer sessions or in winter intersession, the deadline to apply for graduation is February 11.
If you will be completing your degree requirements during the fall semester, the deadline to apply is September 30
What is the difference between graduation and commencement?
Some students confuse graduation with the University's Commencement ceremony, and it is an easy mistake to make. Graduation is the required process for every student who has completed their degree requirements and wishes to have their degree conferred. The Commencement ceremony is a voluntary celebratory event to which all graduates are invited but are not required to attend. Lock Haven offers graduation three times each year (May, August, December) and offers a Commencement ceremony each May.
