Orientation at LHU

We are thrilled that you have chosen to be a part of The Haven family!

Lock Haven University is excited to welcome our new students and their supporters/families to the LHU campus for an exciting and informative orientation program. Below you will find information regarding our orientation programs, but first, let's talk about why it is so important.

We require that students attend orientation...yes, it is mandatory.  It is mandatory because national research shows that participation in orientation is one of the best ways to support college success.  Every decision we make as an institution is driven by just that.  What is best for our students.

You will find that the orientation program provides students with a better understanding of academic expectations, a clearer understanding of their role as a college student, exposes them to LHU resources and how to access those resources, and most importantly, it strengthens the student-supporter/family-LHU partnership.  Something we strongly believe in.

We encourage supporters/parents/guardians (any person who provides support to the student) to attend orientation with their student. The beginning of a college experience is a very special and exciting time, not only for the student, but for parents and family members as well. The more that family members understand about the college experience, the more helpful they can be to the student during their transition.
