Title IX, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) prohibits discrimination based on sex in any educational program or activity that receives financial support from the Federal government. Under Title IX, discrimination based on sex includes sexual harassment, sexual violence, and sexual assault. Title IX also prohibits retaliation against individuals who complain about or participate in an investigation regarding an alleged Title IX violation.

In compliance with Title IX, Lock Haven University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in employment or in its educational programs and activities. It is the goal of LHU to maintain an environment that is free from all forms of illegal harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual violence and sexual assault.

Age Discrimination

The University does not tolerate harassment on the basis of age. The University encourages any student who believes he or she has been subjected to discrimination or harassment on the basis of age to report the harassment to the University.  The University is committed to conducting a prompt investigation of complaints of harassment.  Students and staff may report allegations of age discrimination or harassment to the University’s Associate Director of Human Resources, Social Equity and Deputy Title IX Coordinator as follows:
