Students have the opportunity to live on campus during all four years at Lock Haven
University. This is great news because national studies show students who live on
campus have:
Better academic success
Higher GPAs & degree completion rates
Are more satisfied with their academic experience
In fact, our statistics show that students who live in our on-campus housing have
a 13% higher graduation rate than students who do not live on campus. Learn about
our two-year Residency Requirement by visiting the Residence Life section of the University Handbook or on our Sign Up For Housing webpage.
Types of Housing
More than 1700 students can live on campus in our traditional residence halls, suite
style hall, and apartment complexes. Costs and living configurations vary depending
on how many roommates you have and what type of space you choose.
TRADITIONAL RESIDENCE HALLS
Offering the best opportunity for new students to make friends and be involved in
the community on campus, these are where most students live. Typically, two roommates
share a room, with a common bathroom located on each floor.
Offering a little more privacy, these are available to all students. Each suite has
shared a bathroom and either a shared bedroom or 2 private bedrooms.
Offering apartment style living space, these are typically chosen by returning students.
A variety of layouts are available providing bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, a kitchen,
and a living room.
Fairview Suites is Lock Haven University's newest residence hall. Featuring two suite-style
room options, the building is home to more students than any other residence hall
on campus.
Located in the heart of campus, Smith Hall is within close walking distance of the
most popular campus destinations from the PUB to Bentley Dining Hall, Stevenson Library,
and many campus academic buildings.
Woolridge Hall is located near the center of campus and is conveniently situated near
many of the University’s most popular spots including Bentley Dining Hall and the
University Commons.
Home to upperclassmen, Campus Village is within short walking distance of both Main
and East Campus. The apartment style rooms offer the space you need to live independently
and complete your education.
Evergreen Commons offers student apartments in close proximity to Main and East campus.
The variety of floor plans, numerous amenities, and thriving resident community make
Evergreen Commons a great off-campus option for upperclassmen.
“For us, giving to LHU is a priority. My Lock Haven education afforded me a lot of
opportunities and now it’s an honor to be able to help others.” – Ron Bowes ’66
