Our Business Administration program at LHU Clearfield will provide you with a broad overview of essential business theory in the core areas of finance, marketing, and management. Our program prepares you for employment and advancement within a company, for entrance into graduate school, or for launching your own business.

What You'll Study

Management Concentration

In this concentration, you will learn how to effectively and efficiently utilize physical, human, and technological resources to achieve the goals of organizations. You will gain insight into resource management to meet the constantly changing demands of our global society. Courses include:

  • Accreditation: The program is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a global business accreditation. ACBSP’s Mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world.  LHU’s Business Program must demonstrate through their leadership, faculty, curriculum, learning activities, and support processes that students learn, key stakeholders are satisfied, and program improvements continue.   • Nano-Incubator for Micro-Businesses: The LHU Nano-Incubator was established to help overcome the roadblocks to establishing a business. While many students say they would like to launch their own businesses, many of them never will. LHU’s Nano-Incubator allows you to test the waters by launching online a small part of the business that interests you. 

  • The Poorman Student Investment Fund: As part of the Finance and Economics concentration, you can gain hands-on experience managing the Poorman Student Investment Fund. You will learn and apply investment analysis and selection techniques, and portfolio management skills given the fund policy guidelines.

  • Internships: Students are encouraged to complete internships in their junior or senior year. You will find opportunities for internships in large organizations as well as in small, family-owned businesses. In recent years students have interned with organizations as diverse as:

      • Geisinger Health Systems
      • Little League International
      • Hershey’s
      • The Franklin Institute
      • First Quality

  • Careers: After graduating you may choose to work in a wide variety of settings in sales, business consulting, accounting, marketing, financial advising, and general management. Many students also choose to pursue graduate studies at schools including:

      • Devry/Keller Graduate School of Management
