Frequently Asked Questions About Clearfield Campus
When should I apply?
LHU is on rolling admissions, which means that we accept applications until our classes are full. However, it is highly recommended to apply prior to January 1st to ensure plenty of time to complete the application process.
What are the minimum academic requirements for admission?
A high school curriculum that includes college preparatory courses in English, social studies, math and science. Two years of foreign language are preferred but not required. A high school curriculum that is college preparatory in nature preferably does not include technical, vocational or applied courses. An acceptable college preparatory curriculum includes academic courses that are specifically geared toward preparing a student for college. Although Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) courses are not required for admission they do carry extra weight in the application review process.
What is the typical processing time for an application?
A completed Clearfield Campus application usually processes within 2-3 weeks.
What is a completed application?
A completed application consists of the online application and high school transcript. SAT/ACT scores are optional for Fall 2023.
Do I need to wait for my SAT scores before I can apply?
No. It is best to apply as early as possible. Once your SAT scores arrive, a review of your application file will be made and you will be notified by mail. If you use the code on the SAT, scores will be automatically sent to LHU; upon receipt, your completed file will be reviewed. LHU continues to consider scores from either the new or the old SAT exam.
What is Lock Haven's code for the SAT?
LHU's code number is 2654. Listing LHU's code on your SAT registration form will allow us to receive an official copy of your SAT scores directly from the College Board. You can also send your SAT scores from the College Board Website.
Is there an application fee?
Yes, for those using the LHU online application, the application fee is $35 and should be paid at the time the application is submitted.

The Office of Admissions is located on the first floor of Founders Hall. Park in visitor parking on the left of the building and enter through the double glass doors. Parking passes are not required. When entering the building through the front the Office of Admissions/Main Office is located on the immediate right of the doors.
