LHU’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Center promotes research and learning about entrepreneurship
as a career path and serves as a catalyst and resource for small businesses. The Center
contains a wide range of opportunities for our students:
A career path for business students Through a concentration in entrepreneurship & innovation, business students will master
the critical basics for a successful business launch. Students also have an unusually
large range of study choices (11 courses!) – including subjects not offered by any
other state university in Pennsylvania. Click on the link above to see all your choices!
A minor for students from other disciplines – who want to turn their particular interest/expertise
into their own business Starting in Fall 2017, LHU is offering an Minor in Entrepreneurial Studies – for non-business
majors. Thus art, science, health, or other students who are considering one day launching
their own business will be able to get the training they need for greater success.
More details will be published soon!
A nano-incubator for students who want to try launching a micro-business For students who want to “test drive” the idea of their own business, for next-to-no
money, LHU offers nano-incubator help. Students have access to faculty who have lauched
their own micro-businesses on the web, and who can advise them as to software, structure,
fulfillment, pricing, and free marketing tactics. Thus students can try selling one
or two products to discover how consumers will really respond to their product ideas
and their marketing strategies. This can either be a very cheap real-world education,
or could become the start of a full-fledged company upon graduation.
Events, speakers, and contests for students Each year brings new speakers to Lock Haven University on a wide range of entrepreneurial
topics. Further, LHU students are able to enter and profit from both Business Plan
and Business Pitch competitions.
