Five sport student-athlete and academic standout Billie Jo Bollinger '23 chose Lock Haven for the opportunity to chase her dreams. She's done that, and much more, during her remarkable journey at The Haven.
Joe '84 and Terri (Wise) Koehler '85 made their first gift to the Lock Haven University not long after graduating nearly four decades ago. For Terri, a first-gen college grad turned lifelong educator, and Joe, an accomplished, 38-year IT engineer, helping students overcome financial barriers to achieve professional successes comparable to their own has always been near and dear to their hearts. For the first time in their nearly 40-year history of proudly supporting Lock Haven students, however, Joe & Terri are exceptionally "Haven Proud" for recently establishing their very first student scholarship: The Joey Koehler Educational Professional Experience Grant (PEG).
Since its inception, the Lock Haven Alumni Mentorship Program (LAMP) has seen almost 20 students partner with alumni mentors--the majority of which were on academic probation prior to volunteering to participate--with more than 90% of participants improving from probation to good academic standing after just one semester of mentorship. Each student who began the program in good academic standing also saw their GPA improve.
