Transferring to LHU

What are the minimum requirements to transfer to LHU?

Students must have a minimum of 12 transferable credits and a 2.0 cumulative GPA to be considered for admission. Your official college transcripts (from all colleges/universities attended since high school graduation) are required for the application process.

What if I have fewer than 12 transferable credits?

Students who have fewer than 12 transferable credits will be reviewed based on their final official high school transcript and official test scores* (SAT or ACT), or official copy of their GED transcript** in combination with the college credits that they have earned.

*If students graduated high school more than 3 years ago,  official test scores (SAT or ACT) are not required

If you are enrolled in your first semester of college, we may be able to render a decision on your application that is based strictly on your final official high school transcript and official test scores or official GED transcript. If we need to wait for your first semester college grades to make the decision, you will be notified by the admissions office after your high school/GED information has been reviewed.

How do I know if my credits are transferable?

To be transferable, credits must have been earned at a regionally accredited institution and must be college-level courses where a grade of “D” or higher is earned. Please note that remedial courses do not transfer regardless of the grade earned, nor do Pass/Fail courses. Please refer to the “Transfer Course Database” for a listing of transferable courses by institution.

I've been accepted. What do I do next?
Congratulations! Once you submit your enrollment deposit, you will receive your LHU email address which is where you will receive all important information offices about upcoming deadlines and announcements.

Are transfer students required to live on campus?

Transfer students who have completed a total of 4 regular semesters at a previous institution(s) or have earned 60 credits are not required to live on campus. Students who do not meet this criteria will be required to live on campus. 

Are there scholarships available to students transferring to LHU?

Yes, the Admissions Office offers merit-based scholarships for qualified transfer students. Students must have earned at least 12 credits from an accredited college or university and be enrolled as a full-time student. Eligibility is based on a student's cumulative transfer GPA.

What about financial aid for transfer students?

To transfer over your financial aid to LHU:

  • FAFSA: Update your FAFSA by adding LHU's Federal School Code 003323 (
  • PA State Grant: Specify LHU as the recipient.
  • Federal Stafford Loans/Federal PLUS Loans: Cancel the disbursement to your previous college by contacting your lender or the college directly.

When do I register for classes?

The Registrar's Office will create your first semester schedule for you. When designing a schedule, the Registrar will consider your transfer credits, courses required for your major and courses with availability to select your schedule.

Once your schedule is posted to your MyHaven account (your student account), you are able to make changes to your schedule with approval from your academic advisor. Please note that your schedule will not be assigned until you are accepted and pay the $200 non-refundable enrollment deposit.

Where is the Office of Admission located?

The Office of Admissions is located on the lower level of the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center. Upon arrival to campus, visitors should obtain a parking pass from the Office of Admissions which must be displayed on the dashboard of their vehicle.
