International Transfer Students
LHU or as we like to call it "The Haven" offers a safe and nurturing environment for international students who want to obtain a rigorous American style, comprehensive education.
- Lock Haven University offers over 50 undergraduate programs to choose from.
- LHU boasts a long and proud history of international involvements since 1974.
- The University represents “home” for many international students studying for either a semester or a 4-year degree.
- At any one time there are more than 100 international students from almost 40 countries on our campus.

CHECKLIST OF NECESSARY APPLICATION ITEMS:
- Application for admission
- Copy of passport
- Official academic transcript(s)
- English proficiency exam report*
Deadline for admission is June 1st for Fall students and November 15th for Spring students.
STEP 1: COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION
- No action will be taken on your application until this fee is received by the Office
of Admissions. While completing the application you will be asked to provide:
- Copy of Passport: International applicants must submit a copy of their biographic page on their passport. If a student is already in the United States on a visa, a copy of the current visa should be submitted. If submitted after submitting your application has been submitted, please send a copy to internationaladmissions@lockhaven.edu.
STEP 2: SUBMIT OFFICIAL ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS
Submit official transcripts of all post-secondary, university and/or professional schools.
For university coursework completed outside the United States:
An official course-by-course evaluation is required. We recommend either of the following
companies:
World Education Services, Inc. (WES)
- Submission of a transcript from an institution of higher education from abroad choose:

- Submission of a transcript from an institution of higher education from abroad choose:

Unofficial documents can be submitted during the application process for students
submitting documents from institutions outside of the Untied States. If submitted
after submitting the application, please send a copy to internationaladmissions@lockhaven.edu.
To be considered "official," the evaluation must be sent directly to Lock Haven University
from the evaluation companies.
For university coursework completed in the United States:
Official transcripts are required. Below is our easy-to-use course equivalency table
which allows students to view courses that have already transferred to Lock Haven
University from other colleges and universities.
Credit Evaluation:
Your credits will be evaluated during the application process. If you prefer to have
your credits evaluated prior to applying, submit your request online.
To receive a timely admission decision, please be sure to request to have official
transcripts from institutions in the United States from all post-secondary college/universities
sent directly to the Office of Admissions at Lock Haven University.
Unofficial documents can be submitted during the application process. If submitted

STEP 3: SUBMIT ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAMS*
International applicants must submit at least one official exam score report. To be considered "official," the scores must be sent directly from the sending institution (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
International students currently enrolled in a U.S. institution may not need to submit a language exam if they have successfully completed more than one semester of for-credit academic study.
*Applicants from the following countries do not need to submit a English proficiency exam score: American Samoa, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada (except Quebec), Dominica, Grenada, Grand Cayman, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales), and U.S. Pacific Trust.
