Governance
University governance occurs under the authority vested in the State System, Council of Trustees, and university president by Pennsylvania Act 188 of 1982, as amended. The university follows generally accepted principles of shared academic governance, which find specific expression in the collective bargaining agreements and in the university’s campus forums and committee systems.
This governance chart indicates lines of legal and policymaking authority and channels of input and consultation. See the bottom of this page for links to units or documents referenced in the chart.
