Dr. Kathleen Allison, professor of Community and Public Health Education in the Lock Haven University Department of Health Science, authored a chapter in the text, "Cultural Competence in Health Education and Health Promotion." The Jossey-Bass text, edited by Raffy Luquis and Miguel Perez, examines the intersection of culture and health and the importance of cultural competence for health promotion practice.
In August, Lock Haven University TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) peer mentor and junior social work major, Madison Leister, was awarded a $750 scholarship by the Pennsylvania Association of TRIO Programs (PA TRIO).
