On April 30, the Bald Eagle Battalion hosted its annual ROTC Military Ball at Bald Birds Brewing Co. in Jersey Shore. The Bald Eagle Battalion is comprised of members from Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Brig. Gen. Laura McHugh spoke at the event on the characteristics of leadership. The Battalion was able to welcome back many Lock Haven University alumni and recognize a number of its cadets and staff during the event.

The Annie Halenbake Ross Library, 232 W. Main St., will host an exhibit, reading and book signing for Lock Haven University faculty member and author, Marjorie Maddox (Hafer), and photographer Dr. Karen Elias at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19.

In April, Lock Haven University welcomed State Rep. Brian Sims for a virtual Zoom event, "A Conversation with State Representative Brian Sims." The event was sponsored by LHU's President's Commission on LGBTQ Affairs, in partnership with Bloomsburg and Mansfield universities.

Lizabeth Kasmer, of Glenside, is a recipient of Lock Haven University's Dr. Saundra K. Hybels Memorial Scholarship for the 2021-22 school year. Each year, the Hybels Scholarship is awarded to one rising sophomore, one rising junior and one rising senior who excels in the field of journalism.
